Frequently Asked Questions

A

What are the wagon site requirements?

Our wagons require a flat space at least 7m long and 5m wide, with no overhanging trees or roof. This space must be easily accessible for our large van and wagon, with access to 240v power. The wagons are 3-4m high, so cannot travel through standard height garages or carports.

Please advise urgently if access to your venue requires any travel on hilly, steep or dirt roads or driveways.

Generators are available for unpowered sites – please let us know in advance if this is required.

A

Do you cater to allergies/special dietary requirements?

Yes – we will always endeavour to cater for special dietary requirements such as gluten free, vegetarian and vegan guests! Exclusions do apply for very restrictive diets (such as multiple severe allergies, coeliac and FODMAP diets) and in these cases, no guarantees can be made.

In the case of a significant number of guests requiring custom menus, the entire group may be subject to these requirements, and surcharges will apply at our discretion.

A

Can we remove the grazing table from a package?

All of our packages include a grazing table, to ensure a full main course volume of food. We do not offer the option to remove grazing tables from our packages.

A

Can you cater for a formal, seated event?

Our style of catering is suitable for semi-formal, mixed seated/standing format. Our catering is not suitable for and cannot be offered to formal, seated lunch/dinner events (where food is expected to be served all at once as a single ‘main meal’ to guests seated at tables).

A

Do you cater for children?

Yes! Children aged 2-12 years are charged at $25pp for Basic and Middle packages, and $35pp for Works packages. Children will be catered for within your selected menu.

A

Can you cater for our other event suppliers/helpers?

Sure! Simply include them in your final guest numbers. Full package pricing will apply.

A

Can the wagons operate in fire danger season?

Yes! Our wagons are equipped with spark arrestors and fire safety equipment, and certified to operate in all locations and conditions, except in areas declared as ‘Catastrophic’ (when no event could legally proceed).

A

How far will you travel?

We will travel up to 90 minutes from the Adelaide CBD – to the McLaren Vale, Barossa, Adelaide Hills and even some Clare Valley and Riverland areas too. Travel surcharges apply for events held beyond the Adelaide metro area. Exact surcharge pricing is dependent on your chosen venue, so please ask us for travel pricing.

A

How does the timing work?

Let us know when you’d like food service to begin…and we will draft a custom timeline for you.

Our packages allow for a wagon and full team of staff to arrive at your venue two hours prior to the commencement of your grazing table. Your grazing table will then open 30 minutes prior to main food service, and will be available for grazing until the completion of main food service.

For example for dinner at 7pm, we would suggest:

4.30pm, wagon team arrives at the venue for setup
6.30pm, grazing begins
7pm, main foods served

Surcharges do apply if you require our team to arrive earlier than included, or for extended time between the grazing table and main foods. Chat to our team for pricing and information.

A

Can you provide extra staff to set up/serve our BYO drinks?

Sorry – our staff are only available to serve our included foods.

A

Do we need to provide a table for grazing, or plates/napkins/bowls?

We bring absolutely everything needed for our service, from the wagon and grazing table to compostable servingware, napkins, tongs and more. Just sit back and enjoy!

A

Do you need power and water?

We love having access to power and water at standard venues, and bring all our own cords ready to plug straight in. However with notice we can also be completely self-sufficient in off-grid locations using our own generators. Simply let us know if you have special requirements.

A

How far away should the wagon be placed?

We ask that you select a wagon location within a 20m flat walk of the grazing table location to ensure food is delivered hot and fast to your guests.

A

Can we trial the food?

Our wagons are booked for private events most weekends many months in advance – and also take several hours to set up and operate. While we don’t offer menu tastings, guests are very welcome to visit our restaurant Utopia @ Waterfall Gully any time to experience the style and quality of our food and service.

A

Can I have less than 40 guests?

Sure – but our minimum charge for 40 adults does still apply.
